i can’t wait i can’t wait

But you will learn
to mind me
And you will learn
to survive me

My god he is lovely.

My god he is lovely.

I’ve seen faces of blank terror when I walk by. Sometimes from seemingly strong, macho dudes—somehow my presence confuses and ultimately scares them. There is a strange power to it that I’ve only recently begun to understand and embrace. After many years trying to sort out exactly what they are scared of, most of the time converting the result into personal shame, there are now moments of monstrous pride.

PERFUME GENIUS (Mike Hadreas) ● “One time I spent over an hour flagging every negative review of Brokeback Mountain on Netflix as ‘not helpful’.” (x)

// stream: Perfume Genius - Queen//

Perfume Genius recording proper glam rock was supposed to happen someday - that day finally came and it’s even better than you dreamt it would be. Queen is about gay panic, the feeling some people experience when they encounter gays and are deafened with a sudden fear: Perfume Genius perfectly captures the silliness of it all with Queen, in which he pretends to be the “sea witch with penis tentacles” those kind of people pretend. It’s the first song off his new record Too Bright which was recorded with Adrian Utley (Portishead) and out on September 22.

"Queen", first track off of Perfume Genius’ album "Too Bright"

release date: September 22/23 ROW

Mike Hadreas is a canary. But he's also known as Perfume Genius, and writes hauntingly beautiful music accompanied by brutally honest and heartbreaking lyrics. Basically, perfect.
